After a short break — maybe a week and a half — Dr. Newby is back, lacing up his shoes and hitting the pavement. It’s cold out, no question, but that hasn’t stopped him. He’s walking, steady and focused, not just for himself, but to encourage others to do the same.
This isn’t just about physical fitness. It’s about priorities — about recognizing that in the middle of all the chaos we see every day, one truth remains: our health is our wealth. Without it, the rest doesn’t matter much. And he’s not shy about calling it like it is.
As he made his way from the hospital to the office, he passed at least ten spots littered with weed — and he’s fed up. “We’ve got to get it together,” he says. “We shouldn’t need to get high every single day to cope.” His message is clear: let’s stop numbing ourselves and start healing ourselves.
He’s not just urging people to get out of bed and get moving — he’s calling for a shift in mindset. “Get high on some Jesus,” he says with conviction. “Do something that lifts you up for real.”
So yes, it’s cold. Yes, it’s early. And yes, there are problems all around. But the answer starts with action — with taking health seriously, body and soul.
Time to get busy.
