This morning, Dr. Newby. stepped outside into the brisk air, continuing his commitment to daily walking and encouraging others to do the same. While the cold weather might tempt many to stay indoors, Dr. Newby’s message was clear: bundle up, get moving, and prioritize your health.

“I may not post every day, but I’m walking every day,” he shared. “I expect you to do similar work because I want you to stay healthy, and I want you around for a long time.”

As a dedicated cardiologist and advocate for preventive care, Dr. Newby emphasized the importance of consistency in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. His call to action isn’t limited to walking—it’s about finding an activity that works for you.

“Walking, biking, running, swimming—whatever works for you, just get moving,” he urged. “Follow the American Heart Association’s standards: 30 minutes of activity, five days a week.”

Dr. Newby shared his personal benchmark, revealing that he exceeds the recommendation, logging six days of activity each week. But his challenge to his audience is to take it further. “Outdo me, please!” he encouraged with a smile.

His passion for health is driven by a desire to see his community thrive. Whether it’s a brisk walk, a spin on a bike, or laps in the pool, Dr. Newby believes in the power of movement to strengthen the body and mind.
